@Pain is the reason of punishment and it will be continuing until to the final correction. But test start after finishing certain period of previous correction.
Though both are suffering but through the suffering you will find your true self and it might take several decades of life. We can say this is the process of continuing correction for our final salvation.
@Correction is possible when you realize your fault until it is punishment till to before your understanding. But it is not bad because by continuous suffering we could be able to find our fault for correction that takes us to our persistent improvements.
@In another point pain teaches you for your higher preparation as well you can say this is the preparation for your greatest changes through your learning for correction.
Pain or suffering is karmic resolution and no one out of this, it is cycling life after life until the final purification for your salvation. It might at least takes 100 or 200 years even more than that through the different bodies for coming to this stage and determinate by your activities.
To the last you will be the warrior and going through your test to fight yourself for your all correction. So, the real battle with yourself that keeps you to the state at peace of mind till last to forever.
